Was fucking great. I loved his perspective on the media and his situation. I especially loved this quote:
Every cop in America remembers what it was like to be fresh out of the academy, 6 months on the job, you're rushing to the scene of an armed robbery, you got your heart in your mouth, and it's a visceral thing for police officers. They know what that's like. You know what the problem is? The people in the news media have no idea what that is like. These are people who have no concept, AT ALL, on how to contend with violence. And I'm not just talking about on the streets. I'm talking combat soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan, if your a prison guard, corrections officer or a cop on the street. These guys are nose to nose and face to face wtih the very worst that human society has to offer and these guys who are tapping out their news articles with their delicate little fingers on their Mac Book Pros in Starbucks HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE as to what these guys are up against. And the decision makers, the gate keepers, the guys who are in the newsroom to decide which stories will be covered, which stories won't be covered and the emphasis and repitition placed on those stories to be covered, they are nowhere near these neighborhoods. They have never been down there in the life.
